Bergstrom Subaru supports local humane society - Lori N
The Wisconsin Humane Society Green Bay Campus was grateful to receive the generous support of Bergstrom Subaru – Green Bay through National Make a Dog’s Day. Their support will be put to good use caring for animals in need, like Max. When Max walked through our doors, it was hard to believe what we were seeing. A dog of his size could easily weigh over 100lbs, but this poor 2-year-old was just 37lbs. His tentative eyes silently cried for help. He was truly skin and bones, every rib visible through his spotty coat. His legs were covered in sores and lesions, and he hesitated to sit on his painfully calloused back end. Yet he still gave a polite tail wag as we gently coaxed him through the building to his kennel, gobbling up tiny treats with gratitude. Our veterinary team gave him a thorough exam, provided medication, and crafted a detailed feeding plan to help him regain weight in a safe and healthy way. With small, measured meals, Max gained 18lbs within a single week. His confidence didn’t grow quite as quickly as his body, but he was trying so hard to be brave. Even a walk down the hallway was nerve-wracking, yet this sweet boy put one cautious foot in front of the other, slowly learning to trust again. Today, we are delighted to report that Max gained more than 50lbs in our care, and his personality shines more brightly than ever! With the help of a loving foster family, a dedicated team of veterinarians, and donors like Bergstrom Subaru, Max is finally living his life as the happy, healthy boy he was always meant to be.
Bergstrom Subaru Loves to Care for Green Bay Oncology Patients - Brenda K
Bergstrom Subaru of Green Bay’s commitment to making a positive impact on their local community was put into action on July 25 when they delivered 80 warm fleece blankets, messages of hope written by their customers and staff, and arts and craft kits to Green Bay Oncology at St. Mary’s Hospital. The staff of Green Bay Oncology was so grateful as they shared the challenges of the adult cancer patients in caring for their families and maintaining a job while undergoing treatment for their cancer. The Subaru team was happy to hand these gifts to the staff of Green Bay Oncology as Covid safety precautions are still in place for this high-risk population. These gifts will be shared with the patients when they come in for treatments in hopes of brightening their days and reminding them that their community supports them. Dayton Henderson, a local blood cancer survivor and board member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, shared gratitude to Green Bay Oncology for welcoming the group as well as the passion and expert care they provide to their patients. Dr. Groteluschen, President of Green Bay Oncology, was in attendance to personally thank the Bergstrom Subaru team for their amazing support. These partnerships between generous community businesses and our medical facilities are an essential ingredient in patient care and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is proud to be a part of bringing them together.
RELENTLESS about caring for cancer patients - David G
Often, we forget about adult cancer patients—they’re busy going to work, caring for their families, and balancing all of life’s demands. It’s easy to forget, because of how they handle a life-altering diagnosis with grace. Many in our community are living that struggle and Subaru didn't forget. Your donation of 10 craft kits and 80 fleece blankets to keep patients warm during treatments is a reminder that we're all in this together. Thank you for caring.
Bergstrom Subaru Supports Homeless Animals! - Lori N
The Wisconsin Humane Society Green Bay Campus was grateful to receive the generous support of Bergstrom Subaru – Green Bay through National Make a Dog’s Day. Their support provided much needed toys and supplies to animals in need in our community. Additionally, the generous funding from National Make a Dog’s Day will be put to good use caring for animals in need, like Pretzel. When she arrived at the Wisconsin Humane Society, Pretzel was trembling and could barely walk. Her fur was so tightly matted, it strangled her right leg, cutting off circulation to her paw and causing a severe bone infection. Without treatment, she would lose the limb — and likely her life. Despite her young age, the 2-year-old pup already had joint issues and showed signs of a previous injury to her other leg. Pretzel was too terrified to look at anyone, cowering in the corner with her head down and her tail tucked beneath her. Our veterinary team had to work quickly to earn her trust and ease her pain. After a full shave, wound treatment, bandages, and medication, we were able to save her leg and cure the infection. Before long, Pretzel began to look and feel like a whole new dog. The crouching, shaking little girl was now brighter, more confident, and finally on the road to recovery. Today, all she knows is comfort and love from her doting family. We simply could not have such an impact on homeless animals without the amazing support of companies like Bergstrom Subaru!

He came to WHS severely emaciated due to an obstruction in his intestinal tract which required emergency surgery. Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our veterinary staff, he went from 30 lbs. to 60 lbs. while in our care! We simply could not have such an impact on homeless animals without the amazing support of companies like Bergstrom Subaru!
Sharing the Love at the New Community Shelter - Terri R
Nearly 100 blankets donated to the New Community Shelter is always a much-appreciated donation and makes for a great day. However, when they are delivered by a kind and compassionate Bergstrom Subaru- Green Bay crew in an effort to “Share he Love” - it became an exceptional day!!! in an effort to “Share the Love,” it was an exceptional day!! The concept of Sharing the Love is beautiful on its own, but when we met the Bergstrom team, we discovered individually, they really live this message and care about the organization they are giving to. We were able to give a tour and show them what we mean when we say the New Community Shelter “Helps People Help Themselves.” They wanted to learn about what we do and how our goals and mission help people from our community. They asked great questions about additional ways they might be able to help in the future. They genuinely cared. Since their visit I’ve thought about how Subaru’s Share the Love events make it possible for Bergstrom Subaru to carry that love into our community through this donation. I am so moved by this donation and message. We all need to “Share the Love” by loving ourselves, each other and the people in our community. I hope our residents think about that when they pull that blanket up at night and the world will be a better place.” Thank you, Bergstrom Subaru Green Bay, for sharing the love with the New Community Shelter, we appreciate it very much!! You warmed our hearts!! Thank you!! Terri Refsguard, CEO New Community Shelter
